30 Days Disney Challenge: Day 4 - Favorite Prince
"genie, you're free", is the most touching line I've ever heard from a Disney Prince.
And it has nothing to do with Robin Williams. Suicide is not a liberation, please contact your local crisis line if you are feeling suicidal. You are worth it, you are here for a reason.
And back to my favorite prince. I think the line Aladdin said was touching because, it proves that Prince Al is wicked awesome. He knows he already has it all, other people never had enough of everything. He chose to gave Genie his freedom, the one thing the blue guy has been wishing for himself for a thousand years. How awesome is it, to grant somebody's wish as your last wish?
He is not perfect, he was a thief. But Al is a person who knows what it means to be poor and to be rich, and someone who still has a good heart through it all. His flaw makes it easier for people to relate to him. And, there is something romantic about his persistence to win Jasmine's heart.
